After upgrading the firmware of your Eve accessories you may automate your connected home with timers, and rules entailing location and value triggers. Using timers, you can activate a scene at a certain time, either once-off or repeatedly. Rules with location triggers activate a scene when you reach or leave your home or another location. Rules with value triggers activate a scene once a change in a value of an Eve accessory occurs. Moreover, rules can be refined with conditions.
Note: With iOS 10 your Apple TV 4 running tvOS 10 plays an important role for automation and remote, check our blog post on this topic.
Second rule or manual tapping
In most cases, you’ll activate or deactivate a scene with timers and rules e.g., when using a lamp, heater, humidifier, fan, air conditioner, and so on. You can of course turn off your devices manually at any time, but it is much more convenient to set a second timer or rule to automatically deactivate them. The following examples serve to illustrate the implementation and use of timers.
Note: Generally, we recommend that you first create a scene and test it in Eve by manually tapping the scene. Optional is the well when creating the timer or the rule. You may also set up a scene once you’ve created the timer or rule.
Single timer
You want the electric auxiliary heater to turn on in the bathroom at 7 am, so it is warm when you walk in at 7:15 am. You’ll add a single timer – beginning at 7 am – to the corresponding scene assigned to Eve Energy with the connected auxiliary heater.
Then set a second timer that triggers another scene at 7:30 am, where Eve Energy and the auxiliary heater switch off.
Timers can be used to switch numerous devices such as fans and lamps, to name a few.
Repeating timer
A timer that activates every hour, day, week, or month, is called a Repeating Timer [Link locally]. In our example you may use the timer for everyday use to trigger the scene, whereby it is recommended that you create a second repeating timer that shuts off the electric heater daily at a specific time. If you wish to set the timer for every weekday, but not the weekend, you need to set up five timers to activate the heater, and five timers to deactivate it – it’s a HomeKit law.
Rules with Location Triggers
Rules with location triggers allow you to activate a scene automatically when reaching or leaving a location (place). The place can be anywhere from your home to the office, gym or supermarket, etc. Select Scenes in the tab bar. Tap Add Rule > Next > Add Location Trigger. Then select Arriving At or Leaving if your current location is to be the trigger. Alternatively, type in the address of the location you want to use. You may also add a Time Condition (e.g. After Sunset) or Value Condition (e.g. It Is Colder Than 67 Degrees). Tap Next to apply the scene you defined, or set up a new one to, for example, turn on Hue lamps or devices connected to Eve Energy.
Eve Door & Window
A value change in Eve Door & Window (open, close, or any change) can be used for a rule with a value trigger to switch accessories’ states e.g., turning Eve Thermo on or off, or activating and deactivating lamps, fans, or other devices via Ever Energy. In Scenes tap Rules > Add Rule > Next > Add Value Trigger and then Types > Contact. Choose the Eve Door & Window that will act as a trigger, and activate it. Then choose Trigger Value > Specific Open. The trigger will then fire once the door or window is opened. You may also add a Time or Value Condition to further refine the rule. The last step is to assign a scene to the rule that is to be activated, like powering on/off Eve Thermo, lights, or other devices.
Eve Room and Eve Weather
Like Eve Door & Window, Eve Room and Eve Weather allow the use of their value changes when setting up rules with value triggers and optional conditions. An example would be to automatically turn your Hue lamps red when the value of air quality measured by Eve Room is worse than Inferior. Another example would be to automatically turn on your humidifier once the humidity in the room drops below 40 percent. Or a rule could entail switching on your fan once the temperature rises above 80 degrees. In either case, it is best to set up a second rule that turns off the devices once the air quality improves, or the temperature drops below a defined value.
Eve Energy
Manually switching Eve Energy on or off, via the app Eve or a scene, may also be used as a value trigger. To do so, tap Scenes in the tab bar, then Rules > Add Rule > Next > Add Value Trigger > Types > Power. Activate Eve Energy (or a Hue lamp) to enable the trigger and choose Specific On or Off. Assign a scene that is to be activated once the accessory is turned on or off. You may add time or value conditions to fine-tune the rule. This way you may set up a rule that, for example, automatically turns on the lights in your family room once the entertainment system (via Eve Energy) is turned on. Again, you may set up another rule that automatically turns off associated devices once you turn off your entertainment system.
Note: Chain Reaction
The more rules you enable with scenes, the greater the chance of triggering unwanted chain reactions. E.g., you may have set up a rule to automatically turn on a red warning light (Hue LightStrip) if the air quality in the kitchen is poor (Eve Room). In addition, you may have set up a second rule that turns on the heater in the bathroom once the kitchen light is turned on. The activation of the heater may, in turn, trigger a third rule that switches on your coffeemaker in the kitchen, and so on. To avoid unwanted chain reactions, take your time when planning and setting up rules with triggers and timers, and consider how one rule may affect another.
We would like to hear from you. What are your favorite timers and rules? Tell us in the comments section below.
Hello Volker,
My favourite rules are turning on and turning off the Eve Energy devices when turning on my Hue lamps. I have defined these rules so I can use my Hue Tap device.
However I have created these rules in the Home app (instead of Elgato Eve), because in the Home app I can create rules without using scenes.
My experience is that sometimes there is a small delay (10/15 sec) in turning on/off the Eve Energy devices when my Hue lamps are turned on/off. It does not matter whether I am using my iPad (Air 2) as Home hub or not (you can use your iPad as Home hub only when it is connected to 220v). I do not have an Apple TV4 which can act as Home hub.
I consider buying the Elgato Room sensors, but I am doubting whether there is also a delay (and how long) when they these sensors are used as triggers.
Another rule is turning on the Hue lamps when sunset. Also this rule is set via the Home app, because sunset/sunrise is not supported by the Elgato Eve app.
Kind regards,
Mees
Hi Mees! Thanks a lot for posting your examples of using rules. I do see a slight delay every now and then but just for a few seconds. An Apple TV 4 (or an iPad in Home-Hub mode) would ensure remote and sync the rules you setup on your iPhone to make sure they are activated even if your iPhone does not even have an Internet connection. Right now your rules “live” on your iPhone only.
Apple is using a private API in the app Home to set a timer using sunset/sunrise, it is not open to any developer so only to be found in the app Home – unfortunately. Best regards, volker
Hello Volker,
will it be possible to use the iPad in Home Hub mode (iOS 10) for running more complex scenarios with the Eve App? In other words, will everything that’s supposed to work with Apple TV 4 also work with the iPad as hub with the Eve app?
Thanks,
Hinnerk
Hi Hinnerk! Eve is an HomeKit enabled app. So all scenarios that will work with HomeKit and Apple TV 4 / iPad in Home-Hub mode is supported by Eve. Is there anything specific you want to have up and running? Best regards, volker
Hi
I cant manage to upgrade the firmware to have access to this function. App keeps telling me that update failed despite connection being ok and Eve Energy turning on and off during the update before it fails. I ve tried on 3 different products and it is always the same issue. Thanks a lot
Hi MF! Sometimes this is an iOS/cache issue. Would you force quit all HomeKit apps then reboot the iPhone by pressing and holding the home and the Start button until the Apple logo shows up? Try again to upgrade the firmware then, should work. Best regards, volker
Hello Volker,
I know it is probably not the exactly the right place to ask this question.
Like I said in my previous post I am considering buying the Eve Window&Door sensor.
In the manual I have read that both parts of this sensor (the small block and the big block, which is containing the battery) have to be placed parallel (next to each other, one on the door and one on the post).
I am wondering whether these two blocks can also be placed right-angled to each other. Do you know whether that is possible?
Kind regards,
Mees
Hi Mees! I am using three Eve D&W in my home. Best results are when they are placed parallel. For me it even works on one when right angled, but I am not sure to recommend it. Sorry, don’t have a better answer. Best regards, volker
Hi, I am looking to deploy additional Eve Window&Door sensor, and I would like to be able to get a notification on my iphone when one units changes. I understand that I can creates rules as to when to allow the sensor change to notify me (like when I set the house in away mode).
I believe that Apple currently does not allow this function, please let me know if I am wrong.
I ask that either Elgato develop a device or let me know if one already exists that can do the following (a speaker and the ability for me to record a message and play it back when the trigger is activated) I will also accept a API so I can create one myself.
Think of a sensor unit in a garage or home that would say something like (You have activated an alarm for this house and you are now under video surveillance….) This could very well denture a intruder and provide my wife additional comfort
Hi Milt! Eve devices with a firmware upgrade provide HomeKit notifications. For example, an upgraded Eve Door & Window will notify your iOS device whenever a value like temperature or humidity changes. The rule you set up is checked and, if the value trigger and condition are met, the associated scene is activated.
We’d love to get push notifications, like a message saying, “Eve Door & Window is open” after we’ve left home – but that’s a different story. This is iOS/HomeKit, so Apple has to provide the functionality, and Apple defines the types that are allowed to use push notifications. As of today contact sensors are not supported here. We’re trying to push Apple to make it available.
Same with your idea on activating an audio message, only Apple can implement this feature, sorry.
Best regards, volker
Volker,
Thank you for the information, I guess I will have to wait on Apple to make my home fully connected as I would like. I believe that they will continue to push out new function as they ensure the security of the application/device
Hi Milt! I am sure Apple will be pushing new functions and options. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker! Perhaps not the right topic, but can Eve Thermo fetch temperature data from Eve Room? If not, I’d like to request such feature.
Hi CL! Unfortunately this is not possible. HomeKit enabled devices can’t “talk” to each other. Communication happens end-to-end encrypted between the HomeKit enabled accessories and the iOS device. So you’d need to setup a rule with a value trigger (temperture change: any) and a condition (><= temperture) and a scene to execute. It's HomeKit, we can't add a feature like the one you'd like to have. Best regards, volker
Thank you Volker! Will try!
I have an Eve Room and Eve Weather, and I’m planning to pick up an Eve Energy to automate a humidifier. I’d like to set up several automation rules that turn the humidifier on and off at different indoor humidity set points based on the outdoor temperature. Since all of these rules will trigger simultaneously every time the indoor humidity or outdoor temperature changes, will HomeKit be smart enough to only query the Eve devices once for all of them? My current plan will require 16 rules, which will generate a lot of Bluetooth traffic if HomeKit has to query the Eve devices separately for each rule check.
Hi Neil! The Eve accessories notify of changes, then rules are checked. This will work, even though you’ll have a lot of rules. Ehen setting up the rules, just remember that additional conditions must all be met, otherwise the scene will not be associated. If you want, let me know exactly what you want to automate and I can help you with the rules. Best regards, volker
I’m considering getting into home automation and using the Eve Energy. I want to use a physical switch to control living room lights in addition to ios buttons / timers. What is the best set up to have a scene turn on/off corresponding to a physical switch? Which physical switch is recommended?
Will the following work and with what sort of delays?
Use a regular electrical switch which controls power to a socket. Stick in an elgato eve energy in this socket and perhaps plugin in a light. Could we set up a rule which says if the eve energy is on, turn on a whole scene. If its off, turn off a scene.
How long does it take for the eve energy to turn on and register with a homekit device? How quickly will a homekit device notice that a eve energy has disappeared? I fear that this is not the intended use case, and the homekit would just consider the eve energy to be unreachable :/ If only eve energy had an auto recharging battery in it so it would always be connected, but can sense and report whether the power is being supplied to the dumb socket or not.
What is an alternative switch then which doesn’t require a bridge for homekit?
I would think the best solution here is for a siri mic/home solution so that we can ask siri to turn on the lights in the room in which the siri mic/home is in.
Hi CommentSubmitter! In your case Eve Energy would work as if you connect it to the wall plug, but the plug is switchable – if I do understand it correct. You could set up a scene then like “If Power is On (Eve Energy, switched on via physical switch), turn on my Hue lamps/Fan/Humidifier…”. To turn it off you’d need a second scene/rule of cause.
Eve Energy needs power to work of cause, this may cause a problem in your case.
A perfect solution you are looking for would be a HomeKit capable Light Switch – stay tuned …
Best regards, volker
Getting some strange behaviour with Scenes and Rules using an Eve Door & Window sensor and an Eve Energy.
I created 2 scenes “Study On” and “Study Off” that switched the lamp – connected to the Energy unit – On and off respectively. I then created two triggers to action the correct Scene when the Door sensor triggers an Opened and Closed condition.
The Scenes keep randomly disappearing from HomeKit, which explained why the Rules weren’t triggering. However, even when I have re-added them (several times), there is a massive delay in the Rules triggering. More often than not, the Open rule will trigger (with a delay) and the Closed rule won’t trigger.
Any thoughts?
Hi Charles! Did you setup the Timers and Rules in Eve or the Home app from Apple? Best regards, volker
Hi Charles! One more question to add: Do you have two factor authentification enabled for you Apple-ID? Best, volker
Hi. I setup in HomeKit but then deleted these and used Eve. 2-factor is enabled as all the other rules and scenes are working. At the moment, things are stable… fingers crossed :/
Hi Charles! I just went from 2 step verification to 2-factor – everything working on my side! Best regards, volker
Hello Volker,
I´m also one of those who would like to use EVE “Door and Windows” as security components sending Push notifications to iPhone. As you have answered:”Itś Apple to enable this feature” but is there a workaround like they have at Netatmo´s Tags sending a notification over a another component – webcam. I´d prefer buying EVE comprehensive systems. Thank you
Hi Marek! Eve products are strict HomeKit. Because of this there is no workaround for us. Netatmo (and some others) use their own cloud service to provide push notifications among other data. Cause of security concerns we stick with Apples HomeKit. Best regards, volker
It seems like elgato might make an Eve control hub since, Apple is so slow to deal with various demands by consumers. The hub can essentially act as a HomeKit central processor that is significantly more capable then the HomeKit system over all is.
Think of it like a HomeKit light bulb, but does more then the bulbs do. The motion sensor triggers the light. But, the motion sensor can also trigger the hub and then that hub can do, whatever. Like turn on every light in the house, blair an alarm, open locks, whatever. Could just be more powerful and answer many of the questions Apple seems slow to address.
Not a hub like your competitors make which are not part of HomeKit but just one that expands capabilities faster then the slow Apple corporation can. If Apple (eventually) makes all these capabilities, the hub can always function as a range extender (BT to Wi-Fi) or serve other purposes.
Also as a backup when Apple eventually abandons HomeKit, as it almost surely will for no reason that makes any sense at all! (RIP Aperture, Airport [apparently], various useful versions of Pages, Final Cut Pro, Calendar, various pre iCloud incarnations, etc. etc.)
Apple is just too slow and unreliable with software it makes. That’s from a Mac user since 1987.
Hi J! Greetings from a Mac user since 1986! In terms of HomeKit we have to stick with Apple. We can’t add functionality or devices that go beyond Apples HomeKit functions. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker, is it possible to let Eve Energy automatically switch things on and off, even when there is no other iOS device or Apple TV within reach? So you program it when you are near, and then leave the place…
Hi Maurice! To run a rule or timer you need to have either the iOS device in reach (local) or a working Apple TV 4 (remote). Or are you talking about location triggers (arrive/leave home)? Best regards, volker
Hello Volker. How do EVE Schedules and Home App Automation interrelate? I.e. if I have a schedule for an EVE Thermo in the EVE App, and then add an automation for the same EVE Thermo using the Home App. How will HomeKit behave? Thanks Manfred
Hi Manfred! As long as you are using HomeKit enabled apps, there is (almost) no difference. All apps use HomeKit. Best regards, volker
Right. Ok, I checked myself. An Automation created with the Home.app shows up in the EVE.app under SCENES->RULES. However, in the Home.app I cannot see what the EVE.app creates for the EVE Thermo Schedules. Are these a different kind of automation?
Hi Manfred! Apple’s Home app does only support HomeKit characteristics, same as any other HomeKit enabled app does. But: Home does not know about conditions for rules (as of today). Using them you have to use the Eve app. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker,
I don’t think it is possible, so a feature request please.
The ability to disable/lock the on/off feature for an eve Power.
I use them for power measurements for heat pumps together with room/weather data (if accidentally turned off, the house will get cold
Hi Stefan! There is not such feature yet, sorry. I’ll check if this is possible in theory. Best regards, volker
Export of all data?
I guess another feature request.
As I’m now running 4 x Room/Weather eve’s and 2 x Power, the possibility to export all data in one go?
Great to be able to export a single type measurement for a single accessory, but some 20+ repetitive exports is less than fun.
Side question, what measurements are stored in iCloud and what on separate devices?
1) I’m thinking about if I later on add a new iOS device (and an eve accessory no longer works) can I access history value/ measurements?
2) Accessories are working, but I haven’t downloaded measurements for a long time (maybe a new iOS device is added) how much data can be stored / accessed later?
Hi Stefan! Here’s a multipart answer, all related to HomeKit. Other than non-pure HomeKit solutions there is no data saved in any cloud, communication is only between HomeKit enabled accessories and your iOS devices (plus Apple TV 4), always end-to-end encrypted – HomeKit security.
Concerning your questions:
In Eve connect the accessory and download the history data to your iOS devices, accessory by accessory. Would be convenient to have all downloaded, but this ain’t work, see above.
Other than non-pure HomeKit solutions like Netatmo, no data is stored anywhere, not in iCloud, not in any other cloud services – security, see above. It’s always an end-to-end encrypted communication between your accessories and your iOS device. Neither Apple nor Elgato or other third party has access or even knows of your home data!
Once you buy more iOS devices, they’ll contact your accessories and download the history data available from Eve accessories that are still present.
Eve devices store history for about 2-3 weeks.
Hope this answers your questions, best regards, volker
Hi,
I’ve just got hold of a number of Eve products in the UK, Having issues with a delay in the power switched responding when I try and turn on/off via homekit and via the Eve motion sensor.. Sometimes they turn on immediately and other times there is up to a 10-15 second delay before they switch on.. It’s quite annoying, Is there a reason for this.? Could there be an issue with my setup.?
Hi Richard! Eve Motion utilizes a passive infrared sensor, and has a typical reaction time of two seconds. This has to be added to the reaction time of a scene. Over here I get 4-6 seconds. Are you using an Apple TV 4 (or iPad in Home Hub mode)? Best regards, volker
I have 2 apple TV’s and an iPad in the house set up at hub’s.. I get the same issue using the Home app and with the motion sensor.
Hi Richard! Are these Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 3? If we are talking Apple TV 4’s it’s ok, Apple TV 3 don’t help if it comes to automation. If you are using Apple TV 4 they even communicate with each other and the iPad in Home Hub mode.
Would you mind testing how long it takes until Eve shows “Motion” once you pass by Eve Motion? Best regards, volker
I’ve also tried just using one apple TV with the same results.
They are Apple TV 4’s
I’ll have a look when I get home… From memory the sensor is pretty quick to react. It’s the power plugs that are slow..
I have 3 lamps, they all come on at varying intervals when reacting to the sensor ranging from 3-4 seconds up to 10-15 seconds. Its not a big room, around 4m x 4m and they are all within 3-4 meters range of the sensor.. Actually the one furthest away from the sensor usually comes on first.
Hi Richard! Is one of your Apple TV 4 devices close to the room with the lamps? There might be a short delay when activating 3 Eve Energy, but it should all be in around 3-4 seconds. Best regards, volker
I’m trying to have my Eve Energy come on when my hearing from my Netatmo thermostat comes on. However I set it, it just doesn’t want to work!
Hi Brunt! What#s the rule you set up. Did you use Eve to setup the rule? Best regards, volker
I used the eve app to set up the rule. I am unsure what to use as a trigger. Heating or temperature. The heating is never set to OFF in the app. Only the target temperature changes.
I have set the trigger to any for both temperature and heating, together and individually. I have had conditions to do with temperature on and off but nothing works
Hi Brunt! Would you mind sending me a screenshot of the rule at volker (at) elgato (dot) com)? Best regards, volker
i have set up a rule within the eve app which is to turn on air purifier(eve energy) when the air quality(eve room) is worse than fair.
unfortunately, it doesn’t work.
Hi Steven! Would you mind sending me sceenshots of the rule to volker (at) elgato (dot) com? This one should work, have a similar rule running here. Best regards, volker
good morning Volker, but only happens to me the problems with the “rules”? I also need assistance in Italian, because in English I do not know how to explain it, google translator does not translate at all well, and I know of no one who speaks English.
I try to write the problem I am having the time:
When I click in the app CASA, the item AUTOMATION “comes a certain time of day” it takes me at 06:25 am during the week from Monday to Friday, with 3 accessories including 2 bedroom lights and one of the living. This far so good, but in your EVE application tells me “mode” is set to 1 once and not repeat …
I repeat you need to see it with your eyes, it is complicated to write, so I ask a technician who see the problem well not exist?
Hi Giovanni! Did you try Apple App Home or Eve to setup the timers you need? Home does allow a easy setup of repeating timers for Monday-Friday and different for the weekend. I have not used Casa too much. Best regards, volker
So you’re saying it’s better to use the app EVE instead use the app HOUSE?
Hi Giovanni! I’d recommend the use of the app Eve from Elgato or if you want Home from Apple. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker – Quick question. Your app is great and the automation with rules and triggers are a huge improvement over Apple’s Home app. What I am trying to accomplish seems like something people would like, but I have had no luck finding a way to do it. I have created an automation that turns on certain lights when I arrive home after sunset. That was easy enough and works perfectly. The final part is what I cannot accomplish – I want those lights to remain on for a set time period (maybe 10 minutes) and then shut off. I don’t want to have to manually shut them back off. Any way to easily accomplish this? Thanks!
Hi BL! I would like to see the same feature you want. But this would mean that Apple has to implement it into HomeKit, as of today this won’t work, sorry. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker, I’m weather sensor user. The Home app only shows information about temperature and humidity data, but nothing about air pressure. Is that correct? How I can configure Home or Eve app to show the air presion in Home app? Thanks.
Hi Jaume! As of today air pressure is not an official characteristic in HomeKit. That’s the reason the app Home does not show it, Eve does. We do hope that Apple makes air pressure available as an official (non private) characteristic soon. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker! Happy new year!!
I Have an eve weather sensor. It works fine and the eve app is very nice, but in my opinion the weather sensor should have a local forecast for the day or next days, similar to Netatmo system, in order to complete a weather station. Is in your timeline to implement forecast functonality?
Thanks.
Hi Jaume! HomeKit enabled apps only show off the values of HomeKit accessories. As of today there is no way to implement a forecast. Best regards, volker
Hi,
I have been using Elgato eve weather and door/window sensors for a while, just purchased the Elgato motion and now planning to get some energy devices too. I understand that the Elgato energy can be used for example with scenes to switch on or off when an event occurs.
Is it also possible to use the Elgato energy to switch power on for example for 30/60/etc. minutes and after that time period to switch off? It is not the same functionality as setting the power on at defined time of day: I am looking for a possibility to use the app or Siri to switch the power on and then it would switch off automatically later. So basically a countdown timer for the Elgato energy. It would be very handy for charging various devices and also for home security: it would switch off the power from devices accidentally left powered on.
Best regards,
Ismo
Hi Ismo! You can use Eve Energy with scenes to switch on/off. HomeKit does not support time intervals as of today. We would like to se something like a countdown, but Apple would have to implement that into HomeKit. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker,
if I wanted to set two timers in the same day (for example warmer must go on and off in the morning and in the evening) I have set two scenes or I can do it in the same scene?
Hi Nico! Yes, you need two scenes to get this done. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker,
I’d like my Eve Switch to turn on at sunset, only if the Occupancy detector of my Ecobee Thermostat knows I’m home. I guess I have to set this up as a Rule instead of a timer because Rules have conditions, but I’m not sure how to set this up. Could you help me out? Thanks.
Hi Sander! I don’t have an Ecobee Thermostat here to test this. I’d guess – if it works at all – you’d have to setup a rule with conditions. But, as far as I know, HomeKit is not aware if you are at home or not, only a change of the status like I’m coming home / I’m leaving. Best regards, volker
Hello Volker,
My problem is when there is a cut in the power supply, when reset, the light bulbs of philips remain lit. Is there any way that through eve energy, apple tv, you receive notification of the power outage? Could you create a rule with eve energy or motion to turn them off, after the restoration of the supply, when I am not at home?
Thank you very much.
Hi Andrés! I am afraid, there is no way as of today. Best regards, volker
Hi Volker,
I Was wondering if it’s possibile to create a rule that use the comsumption as a trigger.
I’m going to buy 3 eve energy for fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.
I’d like to set up a rule to decide wich one has to be turned off first, when the comsumption reach some level.
Thanks.
Best Regards.
Hi Andrea1 Sorry, but there is now way to get this done with HomeKit. Best regards, volker
When using the Elgato Eve Energy Switch are you able to still manipulate the physical switch on a lamp for example if the Eve is set to off?
Hi peter! Nope, this ain’t work. Once you switch off Eve Energy manually, by a scene or in Eve/Home it is off. Best regards, volker
Hello:
Can you please confirm that I could use one eve motion sensors to trigger an eve switch to turn on lights and a siren if there is motion detected. Do I need to have an apple tv to do this or just the two eve devices and an iPad. I am planning to take this as an alarm system on an extended stay in a rented house.
Hi Anthony! The Eve accessories are not made to build an alarm system but you can use it the way you are up to. You do need to use a home hub, we’d recommend the use of an Apple TV 4 for that. Best regards, volker
