To setup your Philips Hue System with Elgato’s Eve, you’ll first need to download the free Hue App from Philips. (Note: Assigning the lamps to rooms, setting up scenes, controlling brightness & color, and switching on/off lights is done via Eve after you complete this setup process.)
Next, activate the HomeKit Function of the Hue Bridge 2 and connect the bridge and lamps. (You can now control the Hue App with Siri.) Connect the bridge with a power supply using an Ethernet cable to your router.
The Hue App will guide you through setup step-by-step (no more than 2 minutes). After the Hue App is properly setup, quit the Hue App.
Open Elgato’s Free Eve App to continue setup and to control the Hue lamps through your Eve App. (Note: Philips offers a migration path to transfer all settings for users who have the old and new bridges. We do not recommend migrating this way. Instead, do a fresh install with the Hue Bridge 2 and a setup, as depicted in our video.)
Perform Philips App updates when prompted. This applies firmware updates to the bridge (check for updates once a month).
