When setting up a new HomeKit-enabled device, Eve offers to set a Siri name for the device. This is an option you should choose for a better Siri experience later.
HomeKit uses three types of locations to manage both your Eve devices and any HomeKit-enabled devices from other vendors. The main three types are “Rooms,” “Zones,” and “Homes.” Within Homes you’ll find “Scenes” and “Service Groups,” which offer an easy way to control several devices with one command inside a Home.
Scenes allow you to control several HomeKit-enabled devices simultaneously with a single command–for example, switch selected devices on or off. To do so, you need switchable devices such as a fan connected via Eve Energy and/or a Hue lamp.
Once you’ve finished the basic installation of your Hue bridge and lamps using the Hue app, open the Eve app. You’ll find the bridge and lamps in the “standard room” of your home. Assigning the bridge and lamps to your rooms and using your Hue lamps will happen in the Eve app.
